This week, Microsoft made a surprise announcement during their Xbox 20th anniversary livestream that the free-to-play multiplayer of Halo Infinite was launching early in Beta. Since we’ve now had nearly a week of playing the game, we wanted to know how are you finding Halo Infinite Multiplayer so far?

The launch of Halo Infinite Multiplayer is pretty significant, not just because it’s the next big Halo game, but also because it is launching simultaneously on consoles AND PC at the same time. Long gone are the days when Halo launched exclusively to the Xbox console, now opening it’s multiplayer (and eventually, the full campaign) to the entire PC community.

But how is it exactly? I’m sure many of us have either transitioned from console to PC or had a console as well as PC to play certain games on, and I’m sure many of us played Halo back in the day on Xbox. Even newcomers can get a taste of the nostalgic action thanks to the Halo: The Master Chief Collection.

That’s all to say that Halo is launching in it’s biggest state yet, and it has some pretty big shoes to fill. Not just because of the brand itself, or the PC launch, but also because of the major delay from last year. It’s proven pretty popular already, but as is the case with many AAA titles recently, that doesn’t necessarily reflect on actual quality.

So what do you think? How are you finding Halo Infinite Multiplayer so far? Does it live up to the hype? Does it feel just like old Halo? Or does it feel more akin to other FPS multiplayer games? Is that a good or bad thing? And what do you think of the Season 1 Battle Pass at the moment? Are the cosmetics worth it? How is the progression? Let’s debate!

What do you think of Halo Infinite Multiplayer so far?

How do you feel about the Season 1 Battle Pass?

Does it feel like classic Halo?

Are you more interested in the upcoming campaign or the current multiplayer?

with some calculations it will take 18 + weeks to reach level 100 that is doing ever y challenge available & the Battle pass season is 24 weeks. The XP, TTK systems needs work imo bring on the campaign.

The OP Battle Rifle, bad Melee and weak Covenant guns are a big problem but its okay otherwise.

It's a typical 343 Halo game: They get a couple of things right, while somehow, yet again, manage to fail pretty much at anything else, while needlessly changing things. I like the core gameplay, but everything else needs work. There are no playlists, all of the maps are "meh" (except maybe for Highpower), and BTB maps are basically palette swaps, with no room for vehicles, which is incredibly annoying since most of them handle incredibly poorly. And the vehicle spawn system in BTB...why did they change it when it has worked fine for years? I've played over 10 hours now and I've seen a Scorpion tank twice - at the end of the matches.

The UI (again, changed for the sake of change) is atrocious, the radar is useless, player collision has been disabled, there's no way to disable the obnoxious AIs without losing the announcer, some of the weapons are absolutely useless....the list goes on and on. And then there's the worst battlepass system EVER seen in a F2P title. Oh, right, and co-op and forge-mode have been delayed - again. Six years of development and we get this, lol.

All that being said, now is the best time to get into Halo, with the MP being f2p and Infinite being the most casual Halo yet. But if 343 won't start improving things quickly I fear that the future for this game is pretty bleak.

I disagree, this is much better than Halo 4, though I haven't played Halo 5 and I'd say it's better than Reach so far.

The maps are actually well done, I don't miss the insane power positions of older halo maps.

Gotta get good. I love that I get to play with great players. SBMM sucks only when you suck, because you don't get to play with great players.

I haven't tried the series for a while because there is nothing new in it, just to test it, I've been working on my old processor phenom x4 955 be and my GTX 960 4GB graphics card, it's a surprise considering its requirements, I was able to get 45 fixed frames with resolution scale 90, and 40 frames fixed with 1080p native, honestly I think the Microsoft studios care a lot, it's pretty good

Idk what they did to the servers, but hot damn the lag is huge for me.

And that's saying something because i used to play Halo 3 nonstop with no issues at all back when my internet was still ADSL based.

As for the overall feel... I don't like it. They changed the tone drastically.

Idk who tf the weird announcer lady is but she needs to sit down so that the cool voice guy can take over please.

The bubbly AI sounds as you secure an objective or start hacking also feels incredibly off.

Absolutely rancid hit-markers and hit-sounds. This makes me sad since the rest of the game's sound design is on point (except for the OST)

The music feels weirdly synthwavy and not at all like the Halo music i know and love.

Armour options are locked behind a paywall as are their colours (Yes i know the game is free, but even then I still expect at least SOME options to be earnable through playing less than 500 matches and grinding the battlepass missions for a month).

Old halo had way better customization off the bat than this and i miss the personalized experience dearly.

I miss the spartan laser. The overall weapon choice for this game is very odd to me. There are some good staples here and there like the needler, spanker and classic sniper, but the rest all feel very off-brand to me (meelee options excluded of course)

The vehicle and weapon spawns feel incredibly wonky as well. Half my games i get some kid camping the aerial vehicle spawn area for 8 minutes and snatching it before anyone else gets the chance. Wraiths, scorpions, banshees and ghosts should spawn more frequently so that the match isn't just filled with warthogs until the last 3 minutes (not literally, but they have REALLY long spawn timers and then get blown to smithereens in like 4 seconds as they become the center of attention)

The maps feel kind of generic and weirdly slapped together. If you get CTF on the big ragnarok looking one then both sides will have some guy camping their flag with the perfectly positioned mounted turret and the game will most likely end in a tie since neither team can even get close to stealing a flag.

I'll still play it, i guess.

But only because queue times are instant and there's literally nothing else available that fits my strained budget while (though barely) scraping my nostalgia itch.

I've started feeling that the audio team at 343 industries don't know what musical direction their games should have. Each one has had a different composer with a different style, unlike Bungie's Halos, which had a strong musical identity starting from the very first one. Can't say anything about Infinite's campaign, but the MP sounds like a completely different game series. The OST is a weird mixture of post-rock and something I can only describe as "worship music". Nothing against fellow composers, but I'm not a huge fan of the musical direction of the new series - the soundtrack of Infinite's MP being the most baffling decision to date.

All I can ask for is that they allow us to modify servers like in Combat Evolved on PC.

My dad and I spent days and days playing all the different game modes that people came up with, it was an absolute blast.

So if they can keep that part I am more than game to keep playing!

Halo won this year out of the big three. It's better than CoD Vanguard and BF2042, two games that shouldn't have come out this year.

The multiplayer has been great so far.

I don't care about the battle pass

I'm very interested in the campaign, but I'm gonna get it later on, bought too many games already.

It feels like it took most of the best aspects of each Halo game. Sprinting is done right. The maps are great. The new weapons are very well done it seems so far. No complaints.
